the idea: paint doodles on a lamp

This lamp has actually been acting as an important part of my room for a while now. I made it a little over half a year ago when I was still working at a paint-your-own pottery shop.

The random pieces I did there to keep me occupied also helped me develop a pride in my doodling.  These strange, geometric designs that I’ve been doing since I was a child never seemed quite as impressive as the other little kids who could draw actual people or animals.  But over time, my patterned doodle turned into something pretty cool.

Now I’m even trying to find a way to work them into my paintings.
