the idea: knit a canvas with two yarns together
One of my favorite memories happened at Michaels when my sister, mother, and I went shopping for yarn. I was young, somewhere in elementary school, and I picked out these three crazy yarns.
Later, once I’d finished the project, my sister told me that she had thought I was crazy for picking out those yarns, that they would never go together. And yet there she was, looking at my next finished project.
I’ve always loved to combine strange things. It’s a challenge, a conflict.
For this latest knitted canvas I used some of the regular Super Saver yarn that I bought in bulk at Michaels. But then I also used some old fuzzy orange yarn in order to make a brighter, thicker canvas. I put a layer of PVA on part of it as an experiment and in the morning, once it dries, we’ll go from there.
