the idea: start the Boston Idea Project
Dear friends, family, acquaintances, and strangers,
It’s here, the hundredth idea.
Rather than share another art piece or teaching moment, today my idea is start a project that collects and celebrates your ideas.
I know I’m not the only one who constantly comes up with new ideas. Some of them are so important that I actually do them and share the outcome, some are struggling to form so I share them to get feedback, and some I can never do but would love to see happen so I share them in hopes that they can inspire someone else.
Whatever kind of ideas you have, and I know you do have at least some, I want to see them. And I want other people to be able to see them. Now, some of you may have creative qualms about putting your ideas out there. But what I’ve learned as an artist and a teacher is that even if someone has the exact same idea as you, they will never be able to make it the exact the same way. That’s why they are them and you are you.
So don’t be scared, greedy, or insecure. Instead, be brave, be inspiring, and send me your idea! Then pass on this message to other people so that they can too. Together we can celebrate the brilliance that we each come up with everyday.
Because nothing is as inspiring as a good idea.
