the idea: define “Fun” in a picture book
This book, written by my uncle presumably when he was in elementary school, surfaced today when my father and I were going through the basement. In it, he has a pile of stuff recovered from my grandmother’s house after she passed away in Hurricane Sandy.
But, amid the odd feeling you always get when looking through the items of someone who has died, were certain treasures. For one, my father’s old GI Joe’s complete with hand-made Native American outfits and a hand-made scuba back. For another, this small book of worn paper. Just scroll through what we found, it turns out not much has changed in the fifty years since my uncle was in elementary school:
“Fun is the Pub manager that doesn’t know your a minor.”
“Fun is no home work!”
“Fun is going really fast and not going throw the barbwire fence.”
“Fun is a good vodo doll of your teacher.”
“Fun is watching your teacher make a slipup.”
“Fun is putting sugar in the salt bowel.”
“Fun is a big snow storm and no school because the snow!”
“Fun is watching the princable bawl out the teacher.”
