Blue Drops and White Drips. 2011. Oil paint on canvas. 72″x36″
There are several special things about this painting. Firstly, it was the first painting I ever sold. It now belongs to President Fox from Mary Baldwin College and I believe hangs in her guest house. It is also the largest painting I have made that is still stretched, but the stretcher warped so I had to take it off, get a new one made by my college art history professor’s carpenter husband, and restretch it. He made me the stretcher in exchange for a selection of pieces from my pottery sale. I also used this painting as the show card for my show Composing through Color and it is currently the background for my desktop. Now isn’t that interesting?
