So I had an idea. What if I blogged a new idea every day?
I am currently giving my website a makeover. It didn’t function the way I wanted it to as an art portfolio because I focused too much on my blog and yet I wasn’t happy with what I was writing on my blog. I want to be interesting, personal, and interactive while managing to explain who I am and what I do. (Here’s a clue: I make stuff).
One of the most integral parts of my character is that I make things. Constantly. Things that look good, that look bad, that never get finished, that get finished too quickly, and some things that actually work. Everything I make starts as an idea. What if I made my own canvases? What if I played an Am chord after that F chord? What if I wrote a story about a woman who could speak any language?
These are all examples of ideas that turned into my art. But I have other ideas, ones that never make it past blipping through my mind. What if I made a blanket big enough to cover a building? What if I completely decorated my front door in hand drawn leaves? What if I said hello to every person I saw on the street? What if I put all of my dinner into a food blender and drank a dinner smoothie?
So many ideas occur to me everyday, and if you look deep enough, I think you’ll see that just as many occur to you. What I want to do with this blog is give credence to those ideas, good and bad, small and large, plausible and fictitious. I want to share the ideas that have inspired me, the ones that I hear on the street or during dinner with a friend.
Hopefully this first idea will actually happen. Otherwise I just completely rearranged my site for something that might never work.
