the idea: learn how to make a tessellation so I can teach it the next day
My job is full of a surprising amount of these moments. Googling information on artists or artworks minutes before I have to teach a tour on them, learning how to do an art technique the night before I have to teach it.
Tessellations are something that most people do in high school so, of course, I missed them. But when I was giving a tour on geometry in art to a group of 7th graders, tessellations was the first art activity I thought of doing. So, of course, I have to learn how to do it myself.
