Planning for my storytelling class is currently taking over my life, both academically and artistically. All my artistic energy is going into learning new stories. When I’m not learning stories or trying to get the news about my class out there, I’m working on my newest book because apparently my brain doesn’t want to do anything right now but create characters, dialogue, and scenery.
Because of this, I currently have few new pictures of finished art to put up here. I do have good news on that front though! This past week my artist-partner and I put plastic down in the room that I’m dedicating as my new studio so soon I’ll actually be able to start painting in it. Now I can submerge myself in the act of painting without worrying about getting paint on my lovely wooden floor.
Despite the lack of new visual material, I am performing more than I have in quite a while. Last week was my second week at the Medford Farmer’s Market where I was once again warmly received. Because it was in the middle of the heat flash that passed through New England last week the crowd was small, but I enjoyed telling stories to the few kids and adults that were there. I’m conversing with other markets in the area and today I’ll take on the libraries. Who knows where I’ll be next!
