Idea No. 96: Shoot for the Trees

the idea: create an scene out of pen sketching

I continued my favorite form of procrastination today: working on another part of the project.

This worked really well in college, procrastinate from English homework by doing history homework and on and on, but it also works surprisingly well on other projects.  For example, my book.

I’ve been trying to write at least a little bit everyday, sometimes more, sometimes less, but today was just a little bit.  Instead, I turned on yet another movie and continued to experiment with drawing.  This drawing is from a section about expections, here’s an excerpt:

We start out with piles of crumpled sketches, machines that fall apart when touched, and cramps after two minutes of jogging.

We’ve been raised to shoot for the stars but nobody ever told us that we’re lucky if we manage to even get off the ground on the first try.  That nobody reaches the stars in one shot.”
