Red with Gray Edges is my largest painting to date at 72″ by 83″. It is also one of the unstretched paintings from my senior show, Composing with Color. I fought with this painting for a long time. One late studio night I called my mother almost in tears because I thought I had ruined it.
The next day I came into the studio to find a note pinned next to the painting from my advisor, Paul, saying “Kickass painting! Stop now!” Just goes to show sometimes even the artist doesn’t know what they’ve created.
