the idea: facilitate a mural designed, drawn, and implemented by the 6 and 7 year olds of the Chelsea Boys and Girls Club
“Across the Bridge is a mural designed, drawn, and painted over the course of five weeks by a group of twenty-five six- and seven-year-old’s from the Chelsea Boys and Girls Club. It was facilitated by Miranda Aisling Hynes, the MFA’s Community Art Liaison for the Chelsea Club. Her only direction for the children was that the club would be on one side of the mural and the MFA on the other with a road connecting them. Everything else, from the buildings to the Citgo sign, the buses to the bridge itself was thought of by the children. Make sure you don’t miss the details, from the baby heads outside the Fenway entrance of the MFA to the bushes outside the Boys and Girls Club, these kids thought of everything.”
The mural hung in the MFA today for Free Fun Friday!
