Idea No. 106: The Origami Color Book

the idea: teach a class with the supplies in my apartment

I am sick.  Again.  It’s awful.

As such, I haven’t had the most energy.  On Tuesday, when snow caused my morning class and therefore my reason to go to the MFA to be cancelled, I had some quick thinking to do.  I could either take the extra two hours to go to the MFA, back up some supplies, and then head out to my off-site group, or I could use the supplies I had in my house.

I am still doing a series of lessons on Asian art so I kept this in mind as I poked around my brain for ideas.  In the end, I decided to make origami books which the children could then fill with their own stories.

This went over quite well with the kids and on Wednesday, when I did the same activity for another off-site group, I had a chance to make an origami book of my own.  I decided to go with the color book, because who doesn’t like overlapping primary colors?
