the idea: when you’re so excited you literally can’t sit still, capture it on film
On Sunday I finished the rough draft of my book, Don’t Make Art, Just Make Something, and sent it out to over 50 people. Since then I have been completely on edge. This is worse than any art critique, than any music performance, because it is deeply personal and it is on going.
At any point, any person could be reading my book, judging it as I asked them to judge it. I thought once I got my rough draft done I would feel relieved. Instead I just feel ten times as nervous.
But today I got back my first bit of feedback from my friend Audrey. It was incredibly supportive and helpful, with her overall opinion and several grammar points. As soon as I saw it I began dancing like I was in the video. This went on for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half, and at one point I decided to capture it on film. Because making anything is a rollercoaster, and it’s important to savor the good parts.
