Idea No. 117: Guest Ideators

the idea: start asking other people to write about their ideas on the Idea Blog

You may have seen it, or maybe not since nothing really happened with it, but a few weeks ago I tried to start a new project: the Boston Idea Project.  Why I decided that now, in the middle of writing my master’s thesis, would be a good time to start another project I don’t know.  I often just get wrapped up in the idea and put it out there before it’s ready, or before I’m ready.

But here’s a perfect example of how an idea can come to life, fail, be ignored for a few weeks, and then have a strong comeback.  I realized that the last thing I need is another project.  However, I can always add more dimensions to one of my current projects.  So, rather than keep going with the Boston Idea Project, I’ve decided to start trying to have guest ideators on my blog.

My first guest ideator was Emily Schoenberg who wrote about Idea No. 54: the Creative Hour.  This was back in January when the Boston Idea Project was first finding its roots.  Idea No. 116, the one I posted earlier today, was written by Katherine Vetne about the Boston Critique Group that she started over two years ago.

This feels possible and I am eager to find more guest ideators so, if you think you could be one of them, head over to the Submit an Idea page (see how official this is?) and get started!
