the idea: put up a sign for a lost earring

So the actual idea, to put up the sign, was someone else’s.  However, I have seen this sign every Wednesday for months as I walk to one of my weekly offsite classes.  When I first started seeing it, the paper was white and had just been put up but over time it has become stained and weathered.

Every time I see this sign I think of the person who put it up, the person who lost the earring, and possibly the person who reclaimed it.  Of course, I don’t know any of these people or have any idea who they might be, but that’s where the interesting stories come from.
