the idea: put aside pride and get excited over taking pretty flower pictures
I’m not sure if it comes from my childhood as a tomboy, my college experience as a “sophisticated artist,” or some weird unconscious cultural thing, but sometimes I get self-conscious when I see a beautiful flower and want to take a picture of it. I mean, c’mon Miranda, don’t you already have a million pictures you’ll never use? A good amount of which are of flowers? And not even good pictures, but crappy cell-phone pictures.
But you know what? Screw that. I like flowers.
My favorite quote about flowers comes from Georgia O’Keefe who said, “I paint flowers because they’re cheaper than models and they don’t move.”
I think that goes for taking pretty pictures too.
