the idea: teach stained glass using plastic laminate, tissue paper, and sharpie
This is one of my lessons that I’ve picked up during my time at the MFA. When I first heard fellow teachers discussing it, I thought it would be too difficult for the young children that I tend to work with. However, it turns out that they do quite well!
The idea is to draw a design, peal the plastic laminate and put it sticky side up on top of the design (you’ll be able to see it underneath), tape down, and fill in the color with tissue paper. Then, put another piece of plastic laminate on top, use colored tape to make a nice border and sharpie to make the black lines.
