the idea: create the next iteration of the Idea Blog through celebrating the ideas of others
One of the good things about having a series of ideas is that inevitably you will hit significant numbers. When the post for the day is just some random number, say Idea No. 134, there isn’t much pressure. (Thus the post about pink elephant puppets). But when it comes to a number like 200, something needs to happen.
I’ve already set a pretty high bar for myself. The past significant numbers include:
Idea No. 50: Don’t Make Art, Just Make Something (the very first post, before the book was written!)
Idea No. 100: The Boston Idea Project (which never happened but evolved into the 1.5 edition of the Idea Blog)
Idea No. 150: What’s Your Something: (an on-going project connected to the finished Don’t Make Art, Just Make Something)
And now, for Idea No. 200, I am launching the next iteration of the Idea Blog. For the past two hundred ideas I have, with a few exceptions, posted my original ideas. These include lessons I’ve taught, art I’ve made, and projects I’ve started. But while trying to come up with my own ideas every day, I’ve stumbled across so many incredibly interesting ideas that other people have come up with. Although I will continue to post some of my own ideas, from this post forward I’ll spend more time celebrating and spreading ideas from others.
Of course, this means a lot more research on my end and because of that instead of posting a new idea every day, I’ll start posting a new idea every Monday through Friday. I’ll also always be looking for incredible ideas, so if you find one or think of one yourself, make sure to let me know! Tweet it to @mirandaaisling, email it to miranda.aisling@gmail.com, or post it on facebook.com/mirandaaisling.
Now let’s jump in to the Idea Blog 2.0!

I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Excellent work!
