Idea No. 202: The Rubber Barber

the idea: an eraser that creates hairstyles whenever you erase something

the ideator: Megawing

As an abstract painter, I’ve always had a bit of a problem with pencils.  Let alone erasers.  Those rubbery trapezoids that leave pink stains all over your paper as you try to take away the shame of your mistakes.  But Megawing, a Chinese company, has come up with an idea that redefines the life of an eraser.

Instead of the awful rubber bars we grew up with, kids can now make their mistakes disappear while creating awesome hairstyles.  Seriously.  These little erasers have a face in the middle and color around them, originally set in a perfect square that is just waiting to be erased into a masterpiece.  Who knew that you could create through erasing? (Apart from the plethora of drawing students who did the assignment where you cover a paper with charcoal before drawing).

But now, thanks to today’s idea, the torturous pink stains have been remade into art just waiting to happen.  How could anyone resist?
