the idea: get everyday people to model your clothes
the ideator: Debenhams
Debenhams, a U.K. based clothing store, has decided to change things up when it comes to their fall look book. Instead of a plethora of cookie cutter, slim, white women, their clothes are worn by everyday people.
“Our customers are not the same shape or size so our latest look book celebrates this diversity. We would be delighted if others followed our lead. Hopefully these shots will be a step, albeit a small one, towards more people feeling more comfortable about their bodies,” said Ed Watson, Director of PR, Debenhams.
I’m glad to see some stores starting to embrace this trend, of real people, no air brushing advertisements. It almost makes me want to pay attention to fashion, but I’ll leave that to the experts.
