Early this Spring, I taught a figure drawing class to a group of eight to ten year olds out in Chelsea. It was a small group, but we had a great time. One of the most important ideas I had, was to be a model myself and to join in the drawing.
This drawing was created by one of my students when I was posing. The red circles are from the technique I taught the children in order to make a person in correct proportions. Instead of erasing them, this girl decided to use them as part of her drawing of me. Here’s another idea, what if I made a full body suit that showed how to draw the basics of a figure? Circles at the joints, an oval for the hips, could happen. It would be like one of the skeleton suits bet more artistic.
