Applying paint in new ways is one of my favorite things.
In college, I was having lunch in the cafeteria with a group of friends when I accidentally squirted ketchup across the table out of one of those red plastic ketchup bottles. As an artist my first reaction was, of course, ‘I wonder if I can get paint to do that!’
Unfortunately, my medium is oil which doesn’t mix well with cheap plastic containers. (I know, I bought some to try it out). Someday I’ll figure it out, but it’s good to see that someone else has already taken the painting with squirt bottles idea and run with it.
Check out Amy Shackleton‘s work and her time-lapsed video (shown below) to see what I mean. It’s truly incredible.
P.S. Another floating idea… I have always wanted to make a time-lapsed video of myself making art. Unfortunately that would take many months and way too much film. Someday though, I’ll figure it out.
