Idea No. 67: Blue Apple Biscuits

the idea: make biscuits with apple juice instead of milk and dye them blue

I’ve been snowed in for three days.  Not technically snowed in, we can get out our front door, but I haven’t had anywhere to go so I haven’t left.  The MFA is closed, I don’t have classes until tomorrow night, and I have enough food.

I’ve written part of my book, painted, cleaned, read, done laundry, made food for the week, talked to family members, watched a stupid amount of Grey’s Anatomy, written a new song, made a snow sculpture, shoveled the driveway, I’m sure I could keep going.

But the latest, and the strangest, was a sudden urge to cook Aunt Joyce’s Biscuits, a family recipe named after my great aunt.  I didn’t have any milk so I made them with apple juice.  Then, if you couldn’t tell from the picture, I turned them blue.  Why?  Why not.

I’ve eaten one, Simone’s eaten one, and I still have six large blue apple biscuits left.  Any takers?
