One of the first something’s I received for this project was from my older sister, Mairead (who just graduated college today!!). About a week into it she sent me another picture but this time it was a photo from my mother.
I’ve been waiting for a good time to put up this picture, which both captures my mom’s spirit and the incredible things she creates as the technical theater director at the high school I would have gone to. This specific piece was a put she created for the middle school’s version of Seussical. She called me many times as she was working on it and one memorable night said, “Well, Miranda, I have no idea how to make a puppet, so I guess I should just make something!”
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. Thank you for encouraging me to always make the best something I can.
