I’ve been wanting to watch this movie for a while but never got around to it.  Then my roommate gave me the book and, as a person who religiously reads books before seeing their movie versions, I started to read.

I’m almost done and eager to finish, but am already blown away by the skill with which Matthew Quick captures his characters and paints a difficult world through a challenging lens.  If you’ve seen the movie and liked it, you should give the book a try.  If you haven’t done either, read the book first.
